The aims of the GFNC are to: • Stimulate the study and appreciation of natural history. • Preserve and protect native flora and fauna. • Promote the conservation of natural resources and the protection of endangered species and habitats. • Record information and knowledge about the flora and fauna of the Geelong region.
There are many organised events for you to become involved with. GFNC members participate in ..... • Monthly field trips to local areas of natural significance, observing plants, birds and all other living things. • As well, we note the geology and fossils of local sites plus evidence of traditional owners' occupation in the region. • Illustrated presentations by leaders in natural environment subjects • Bushland, coastal and alpine campouts • Flora and fauna surveys • Conservation projects
