To be an association of people who want to know Wilsons Promontory National Park better by contributing our time and expertise to activities that conserve its beauty and natural values.
We want to collaborate with Parks Victoria to develop a range of volunteer activities that attract people with different interests and physical capabilities – at the moment we run working bees over six weekends a year, operate an indigenous plant nursery at Tidal River, and provide support to conservation projects. Tree planting, track maintenance, rubbish collection on beaches, weed eradication, scientific monitoring of fauna and flora and giving a public voice for the park are some of the many activities we do. We would like to extend these activities into the marine park.
As well as encouraging volunteers to do their bit for the park, we also provide opportunities for volunteers to get out and explore the park and enjoy its magnificent scenery and attractions. Our weekend visits include a full Saturday of work followed by a relaxing evening at Stock Yard campsite and a Sunday walk.
