Sea Slug Census (snorkel) at Point Lonsdale, Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park

Join our ranger-led Sea Slug Census activity. We will search the intertidal rock platform and also the subtidal reef via snorkel for Sea Slugs and Nudibranchs. Join other volunteers while you contribute to marine citizen. Age: 16+

Meeting point: Please meet the Ranger in the car park of the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, 9-13 Point Lonsdale Rd, Point Lonsdale VIC

Meeting time: 3pm - 5pm.

Further Info:
Volunteers must be 16 years and older.
Volunteers must be competent swimmers, have their own snorkeling equipment and know how to use it.

Participants must complete the “Snorkeler Competency Assessment” form and the “Restricted Snorkeler Medical Self-Assessment” form. Please email Nicki at: nicole.filby@parks.vic.gov.au to receive a copy of these forms.

Once completed please email these documents to back to Nicki. Please also attach them to your volunteer profile, under "accreditations" on Park Connect. Please ensure this is done by Thursday 9th December. If these forms are not completed, volunteers will be unable to participate.

Please also upload proof of your Covid double vaccination on to your Park Connect volunteer profile under "accreditations".

• Drink bottle

• Sunscreen

• Waterproof wading shoes or shoes that can get wet – ideally reef walking shoes/wetsuit booties. Thongs and crocs are really slippery and are not recommended. Old sneakers are great as are enclosed hiking boots
